We have designed three new rugs for this collection. The art of the early Renaissance period lends its pigmentation to create pieces both distinct in narrative yet with creation at their core – from the heavens, the earth and by the hands of humans. The Marginalia found in the margins of Medieval manuscripts range from quick doodles to the elaborate and beguiling drawings which have inspired our Marginalia rug. Though the author of each drawing may have be anonymous, their indelible marks shaped both the history and future of each manuscript, much like the weaver of a rug or the teller of a fairy tale.
