I particularly love this carpet; it is a litlle Afhsar tribal piece featuring and “infinitely repeating demon’s head” design There is a gorgeous balance between harmony and disorder in the carpet which is something I always find particularly pleasing in an antique carpet.

The “demon’s head” design is featured in the field of the carpet and the way the border crops the field apparently implies that the carpet is just a small window onto an infinitely repeating field of design. This is an idea I absolutely love!
